In Cultivate U, you can either click the GO button on the “Approve Development Plan” task in your Timeline


You can also click on the My Team menu and select Development > My Team Development Plans or select the Team Development button under the Supervisor Links on your Homepage.

If you selected the My Team Development Plans or Team Development links, you will see a list of all your direct reports along with the Approval Status, Completion progress and an Actions/Edit button.


Approval Status Column

  • Blank = employee has not begun adding any goals/activities. PLEASE FOLLOW UP TO HAVE THEM COMPLETE THEIR PLAN
  • In Draft = employee has started working on their plan but has not clicked the Submit button yet.
  • Pending = the plan is waiting for your approval.

The Progress column shows how far along the employee is in completing all of the activities in the plan

 

To view the employee’s plan, click the Edit button then select View. If the plan is pending, you will also see an Approve and Reject option. It is highly recommended that you review the contents of the employee’s plan prior to approving or rejecting the plan.


If you selected the View option above or clicked the GO button from the Task in your Timeline, you will be taken to your employee’s plan. Here you can review the objectives and tasks that have been added to the current year’s plan. If you need to view the plan for the upcoming year, select the Filter option and change the Plan Period filter and click Apply. (You can also remove the filter altogether to see a complete list of all activities regardless of date)


As a supervisor, you are able to edit some aspects of the plan such as changing names or descriptions or revising due dates prior to approving the plan. However, if the plan needs significant changes, we recommend that you select the Reject option, then provide comments to the employee so they know what changes you would like them to make.


*Note: If the employee’s plan is not started or in draft, you will be unable to approve. The employee needs to first click the Submit button on their end.


In addition to approving the upcoming year’s plan, please be sure to review the current year’s activities and ensure your employees are updating the completion detail for their activities.
